The Tuscarora High Key club is collecting pennies for patients during FLEX between now and April 12th. All the money collected goes to the Leukemia and Lymphoma society. Students will be visiting various FLEX classes collecting whatever change or even bills that people are willing to donate.
This round of soliciting donations began the 25th of March and will end the 12th of April. Pennies for Patients is a three-week program Elementary and Middle Schools where students collect change and raise funds online while learning about service and philanthropy. It appears that the fundraiser is a yearlong project.
Since 1994, this fundraiser for a social cause has demonstrated to kids that even small efforts can make an impact on the world. The main idea being that even small donations add up to big things. In just one week, out Key club has raised over $150.00 for the cause and is hoping to raise even more next week. While it may not seem like much, the dollars add up and every little bit helps to provide goods and services to people who are battling serious and often deadly diseases. So, make sure you bring some spare change to donate and, if you would like to learn more about the Krey club and what they do, see Ms. Lizik.
