“The Hunger Games: Ballad of The Songbirds and Snakes” is a well known book written by famous American author, Suzanne Collins. This book is a part of her “Hunger Games” series which consists of four books.

“The Ballad of The Songbirds and Snakes” is a backstory from the character, Coriolanus Snow’s, point of view on being a mentor in the Hunger Games, which took place 64 years before the first book.

Coriolanus Snow, who is played by Actor Tom Blyth, is a character who grows up in a not-so-happy place. With surviving a war on top of having to take care of his mom and cousin, he is put into the Hunger Games as a mentor to help someone else survive.

When asked about his character, Blyth pointed out his personality and stated, “This version of Coriolanus Snow is very different from Sunderland’s portrayal of the villain.”  Snow is also well known for having a “large ego” and “nonchalant attitude,” which is shown when he snarkily says, “Snow lands on top.”

This movie shows the battles and hardships that come with being a leader and how violence and revenge may not always be the answer, while also telling the tale of how love can be so cruel. So, if you are wondering, “Should I watch this?” The answer is yes. “The Hunger Games: Ballad of the Songbirds and Snakes” is definitely worth the watch.
