Zootopia 2 brought back the rabbit Judy Hopps (voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin) and the fox Nick Wilde (voiced by Jason Bateman) with a new exciting story in the city of Zootopia, where all talking animals reside. The first Zootopia movie, which was launched in 2016 focused on themes such as prejudice and stereotyping; however the sequel emphasized even more theme topics like friendship, inclusion, trust, and overcoming fear. The new movie kept its essence and fun dynamic of the buddy-cop between Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, but it also surprised the audience by expanding their animalistic world through adding a reptile community, new characters and locations.
As the story unfolds, Judy and Nick, now partners working on the ZPD force, dive into their next case when they meet Gary, a snake with a stolen journal. Judy and Nick had the opportunity to show their commitment and their potential as cops by solving this case with a tight deadline. Additionally, Judy and Nick’s mission revealed a conspiracy tied to Zootopia’s earliest foundation, which uncovered a shocking mystery. The best part of this was that to solve this case they needed to travel to new and interesting areas from underwater districts to snowy mountaintops.
The film’s reception was also strong.
