Do you like to experience different types of musical performances during an event that has been around for over 100 years? Well, the Great Frederick Fair is perfect for you. Located on the Frederick Fair Grounds at 797 East Patrick St. Frederick, MD, it is an extremely popular annual event. This year, it took place on Sept. 12 through the 20th. The fair is a tradition that shows and appreciates the agricultural heritage of Frederick. There are many events during the Frederick Fair, but one of the most notable are the concerts.
During the duration of the 2025 Frederick Fair, there were concerts performing six out of the eight days. The entertainment was popular, and many attendees went. The concert tickets were costing from $30 at the lowest to $79 at the highest, which also gave you access to the fair grounds where the concert doors opened at around 6:00 pm and all of the concerts started at approximately 7:30 pm.
There were 11 musicians that were present and provided entertainment to the masses that went to the fair this year. To start off the celebration, Brantley Gilbert performed first on Sept. 12, where he played with Sadie Bass. Then, Hip Hop singer T.I played Sept. 13, having that evening to play by himself. Third to play was the Pop Band The Commodores with an appearance from the Village people, then Christian and Country Singer Anne Wilson with Caleb & John started the concerts back up after a three day break on Sept. 18. September 19th rolled around and famous Country Singer Travis Tritt made an appearance that evening with Tyler Reese Tritt. Finally. On the last day of the fair, Rock Band Clutch played the finale with The Messthetics. There was a plethora of different music genres that made an appearance, from the punk music of The Messthetics to disco music of The Village People.
One of our journalists was even able to go to the concert where Clutch performed as the headliner. “It was amazing, I was able to hear and see songs I loved performed from a bigger band that was from Maryland,” he stated. “The stage setup was great, even from the further seats, they had big screens so you could see the band up close!” Because of the stage being on the racetrack, there was a lot of room for people to move about and get to bathrooms, drinks, merch, etc. “They even had foldable chairs for the standing seats, which made it so people couldn’t mash, but it was very helpful so people didn’t have to stand the entire time,” our journalist reported.
When it comes to The Great Frederick Fair, there was lots of entertainment that attracts all kinds of people. This brings Frederick closer together by getting to experience things you enjoy with other people who also enjoy those same things. It also allows for you to go to a place that has almost everything: concerts, races, great food, rides, and even small businesses. Hopefully the fair next year will have great music just like it did this year!
