Save the Date! THS 5K Run!

On Sunday April 19th, 2020, Tuscarora High will conduct our first Titans on the Run 5K! Whether you’re a fast runner, enjoy walking or just want to spectate the event; everyone is welcome. THS is working as a community to raise money for the Athletic and Instrumental Music Boosters. These two amazing programs are key representatives of the school. From the wonderful marching band that plays during homecoming games to the hardworking football team,both programs work super hard all year round. These programs need support from the community to keep them going. THS’s Athletic and Instrumental Music Boosters state, “Because 100% of the athletics budget is derived from fundraising and about 80% of the music program needs our financial support to continue, proceeds from this 5K race will help our students to secure funding to purchase much needed new athletic equipment and instruments for our students, including components of an entire drumline and new string instruments for the orchestral ensemble. These costs are not covered by FCPS and so we must reach out to our local community for support.” By being an active participant of this race, the community can help contribute to the many talented musicians and athletes of THS.
The day will begin with a kids fun run at 7:30am followed by the 5K run at 8:00am. The running course will go all throughout the outside of the Tuscarora High campus. The run will conclude at 11:00am. Along with the guaranteed exercise, THS is offering prizes, awards, etc. for participants. THS’s Athletic and Instrumental Music Boosters says, “We will have placement awards and prizes, refreshments and lots of music and energy on the day of the race. T-shirts for the runners and other goodies will be provided at the race packet pick-up at THS.” The race packet pick-up will take place on Saturday April 18. A table will be set up at the main entrance from 9:00am until 12:00am. The price for the Run is currently $30 dollars per runner. This price will increase after March 31, 2020 at 11:59pm EDT. Tuscarora High is hoping to see many familiar faces of students and family. Come down to THS on Sunday April 19th 2020 and support fellow band mates and athletes. Let’s work together as a community to give each generation of THS band kids and athletes strong programs to inspire their futures.
