Frederick Keys Closes Their Season

Courtney Turner

On the evening of Sunday September 4, the Frederick Keys baseball team closed their season off at the Keys Stadium losing 5-3 against the Williamsport Crosscutters. Not all hope was lost however, as the season ended on a happy note with the Keys signature post game fireworks.

The Frederick Keys have been a staple in the community since their debut in 1989. There is something there for everyone whether that be the food, the fireworks, or simply just enjoying the game of baseball.

According to the MLB Draft League website, the Frederick Keys 40 game season began on Thursday June 2 with a mid-season break beginning on July 17 and ending on July 18.

Local resident Brenda Turner who has been going to Keys game for years and who went to their second to last game exclaimed, “[The game is a] Fun night out with the family. Fireworks were amazing!”

Allison Wallin (Grade 10), a student here at Tuscarora claims, “I’ve never been,” when asked about her experiences the Frederick Keys games.

Though their last game was sadly a loss, the Frederick Keys will continue to be and always will be a key factor in what makes Frederick and our community so great. Congratulations on a great season Frederick Keys!
