In the newspaper, we feature restaurant reviews to help guide you when you’d like to go out, but many people enjoy cooking and eating a homemade meal. In this new feature, we will share some of our favorite recipes, with step by step instructions to help you learn how to cook on your own.

Lasagna

Ingredients:
– San Gorgio oven ready lasagna

– 1 3/4 cup of ricotta cheese

– 3 cups of spaghetti sauce

– 1 egg

– 1 cup of tomato sauce – 4 cups of shredded mozzarella

– 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Recipe:

1. Heat the oven to 350 degrees F.

2. In a small bowl, stir together ricotta cheese and egg.

3. Pour the spaghetti sauce and tomato sauce into a separate bowl.

4. In a baking dish, spread 3/4 cup of sauce.

5. Place 3 pieces of uncooked pasta crosswise over sauce

6.Spread 2/3 cup of ricotta mixture evenly over pasta, spread 3/4 cup of sauce on top of that. Then, place 1 cup of mozzarella cheese on top.

7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 TWO more times, then top with remaining 3 pasta pieces. Spread with remaining sauce, mozzarella cheese and parmesan cheese.

8. Cover with foil. Bake for 30 minutes. Take off the foil, then bake for another 15 minutes. Let stand to cool, then enjoy 🙂
