Friday last week Ms. Nickles took a group of her humanities students to New York city for a 3 day 2 night field trip. Day one the group arrived in the city at about noon to check into the hotel in Chelsea, before heading out to the Chelsea market for some lunch and shopping. Afterwards students walked to the high line; a park built on a former New York Central Railroad spur located on the west side of Manhattan. The rest of the day included walking the Brooklyn bridge, visiting the 9/11 memorial, and dinner at the Golden Unicorn before returning to the hotel for the night. Saturday students visited Grand Central Station, Ice skated at Bryant Park, saw the Main Branch of NYC Library, and visited the Rockefeller Center. Most notably, Saturday night the group attended the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular before dinner at Tony’s DiNapoli. Sunday was the last day before departing New York city, when students had mostly free time to shop Fifth Avenue, explore Central Park, and ice skate again in Bryant park. All students arrived back at Tuscarora high school at around 10:30 at night Sunday and returned home before school the next morning.
