New Year’s Resolutions

New Years Resolutions

Emily Lehman, Writer

People may have different perspectives on what they would call, a New Year Resolution. A New Year Resolution is a tradition, in which a person makes a promise to do an act of self-improvement or just something slightly nice, as in opening a door for a random stranger. New Year Resolutions can vary from person to person, so we asked some members of our Titan community what their resolution is for 2017 and what it means to them.

Phys Ed, teachers Angleberger and O’Brien have different views on the subject of resolutions. Angleberger said “you shouldn’t have to wait for a new year to change.” While O’Brien said it’s a “time to reflect and improve to become someone better.” O’Brien wants to become a better person for his family and for his students. Student Noelle Smoot says a New Year Resolution is “making promises that you will never keep” like her trying to save money.

We asked a few students at Tuscarora what their resolutions would be for the upcoming new year. Lenard Dexter Prue says he wants to “work on my character trait than my physical trait”.  Lea Nowak wants to work on eating healthier and, finally, Jena MacDonald wants to work on becoming a better person.

Whether your new resolution is a huge change or a small change, at the very least, having goals for each new trip around the sun can never hurt.
