Book Review: Something Borrowed

Book Review: Something Borrowed

Aubrey Sicat, Editor in Chief

This novel presents a twist on both love and friendship. It is a story of two best friends falling for the wrong guy. Darcy, a tall, skinny, blonde is known as the popular it-girl between the two, whereas Rachel, an average brunette who always follows the rules, attended law school at Duke University. Here, she ends up meeting the love ofsomething borrowed her life, Dex Thaler. Unfortunately, after introducing Dex to her best friend, Darcy, things hit off between them more so than her and Dex. Years later, Dex confesses his love for Rachel, while being months away from marrying Darcy. As things progress, Rachel is put into a situation where she doesn’t know whether to follow her heart and be with Dex, or to remain trustworthy to her best friend, Darcy. Throughout the novel, one can learn about the mishaps of love affairs and which path of love should be taken. In the end, only your own happiness matters the most.

This book is recommended for all readers who need an easy, fun read. If you are not a reader, Something Borrowed is also a movie.
