Recent Netflix series, “Dahmer — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story,” casting Golden Globe winning actress Evan Peters, has brought many controversies. Complaints regarding the moral principle of production, lack of contacting survivors and families, and even of what many might say “a cash-grab” for real losses. But other transfixed reviews brought on the question of “What made him do these things?”
Scientific evidence has yet to back these claims up, but the faulting of Dahmer’s mother, Annette Joyce Flint, is intense and continues to build upon public awareness. Lionel Herbert Dahmer, the father of Jeffrey, played by actor Richard Jenkins, has a scene in the “Monster” series where he’s seen in a room with his son saying, “It’s me. I did this to you..” as well as going on to say, “I should’ve made you feel like you could tell me about that stuff, you know? Because.. I had those same feelings and I gave you that part of me.” This scene sparked massive attention and put reviewers in disbelief.
The biological father of Jeffrey Dahmer published a book in 1994 called, “A Father’s Story.” The book went into depth explaining the possible causes of his son’s theatrical behaviors. Possible causes include an excessive amount of pills being taken during Annette Dahmer’s pregnancy. “About 26 different medications only after a month of pregnancy. Thousands of pills,” explained Lionel Dahmer. Medications consisting of sedatives, sleeping pills, seizure pills, etc.
The book regarding his son’s homicidal sprees has shifted viewer discretion and continues to undergo opinions. So, what do you truly think played a role in the massive killing?
