Some fun things to do over Thanksgiving break!

Shaquille Tairellil, Writer

It’s the time of the year when friends and family come together to eat food, reconnect, and hang out, it’s Thanksgiving time. During the three days we have off, things can become dull so we have come up with a few things  that you can do over your holiday break. One thing that never gets old is spending quality time with loved ones.
Of course there is the traditional option of staying indoors to play board game or watch movies. For families that want to enjoy an outing, the movie theater is always a top choice; with all of the new movie releases, there is something for everyone. Playing a game of football may not be for everyone, but it’s a great way to stay active and spend time with family outdoors. Just don’t forget to bundle up!
As well as seeing family, Thanksgiving break is a good way to get a jumpstart on studying, catching up on assignments, and preparing for finals/exams that the month of December may bring. For many people, being able to get some extra sleep is the best part about break. The best feeling of relief is turning off your alarm for a few days. You can also get ahead of the approaching new year by cleaning your room or changing up the layout.
Most people enjoy holiday breaks because loved ones come back from college. There is plenty of time over the long weekend to catch up with them over a meal or a cup of coffee. American’s are usually most excited for Black Friday. The craziness of the mass amounts of people in stores, all shopping for the same deals is an adrenaline rush and event everyone should experience.
So on thanksgiving day after you’ve reconnected with your family, and all the food has been eaten, you can sit back and relax on the couch and enjoy some football. On thanksgiving day there will be three games; at 12:30pm the Houston Texans vs. Detroit Lions (CBS), then at 4:15pm it’s the Washington Redskins vs. Dallas Cowboys (FOX), and finally at 8:20pm its the New England Patriots vs. New York Jets (NFL Network), may the best team win.
