Restaurant Review: Tropical Smoothie Cafe
September 22, 2016
If you’re looking for a healthier option to cure your hunger, Tropical Smoothie is your go-to. They offer light food options but the smoothies can fill you up on their own. Although it’s good on the run, the atmosphere inside is inviting enough to make you want to eat-in.
Of course smoothies are the cafe’s specialty, but they offer an array of other fresh foods. You can order a range of smoothies, from “superfood” to indulgent, depending on your mood. An accommodating feature Tropical Smoothie gives you is the ability to add supplements and add-ins to personalize your drink. Healthy meals from salads to sandwiches and wraps are made with fresh ingredients. On our trip to Tropical, we tried the Island Green and the Peanut Butter Cup. Both were delicious and had the perfect smoothie consistency. The Peanut Butter Cup definitely tasted more like dessert than a smoothie, and is a great choice. The Island Green, on the other hand, is made full of beneficial components without ruining the taste of the smoothie.
In our experience, as well as other customers’ too, the service was rather slow. After ordering, we waited a much longer time to get our smoothies than we would’ve at their competitor, Smoothie King. But being the only customers there at the time, faster service was expected. Although we haven’t tried it, if you’re looking for a better alternative, their website does offer ordering online. That way, you could avoid any service difficulties.
Overall, we enjoyed Tropical Smoothie Cafe’s natural choices. With under 500 calorie options, Tropical is a winner for almost anyone’s dietary needs. Make sure you stop by Frederick Square for breakfast, lunch, or dinner!
