Titans Sell Photography at Art Festival
May 18, 2016
On Saturday, May 6th, four Tuscarora students, Andrew Johnson, Daniel Wagner, Elihana Epstein and Victoria Nicholson, participated in Mayfair last weekend. Mayfair is an arts and crafts festival for all Frederick County students in grades 4th-12th to display and sell their artwork. Students that are in public school, private school and are home-schooled can participate in Mayfair. Students can sell photographs, jewelry, paintings, etc. Each Tuscarora student brought and sold photographs taken from their advanced digital photography class.
Mayfair began at the Griffin Art Center, on the corner of 5th and Market street in downtown Frederick, from 3:00pm and lasted until 6. Students arrived early to prepare their booths. When Mayfair began many people stopped by each booth. Victoria had a couple of people buy her photos, she said that the people that came by said some nice things about her work. Andrew sold almost all of his pictures, and many people also gave him compliments on his work. He even had a professional photographer come by and give him his card. Elihana had sold some of her photos, she thought that the opportunity was great and the experience was okay. Daniel had some people stop by his booth and he sold a couple pictures. Each student did well at Mayfair. It was a great opportunity for them to put their names out and be recognized for their work.
