  1. What is your current profession?

I’m a second grade teacher in Baltimore County.

  1. What year did you graduate? Were you here for all four years of high school?

I graduated in 2011 after four years at Tuscarora High School.

  1. What do you remember most about Tuscarora High School? What were some of your favorite memories?

I mostly remember attending sporting events. Football games and basketball games were always a blast. One of my favorite memories was cheering on the the boys’ soccer team as they won the State Championship my freshman year at UMBC.

  1. Who were some of your favorite teachers? Are any of them still currently working here?

Some of my favorite teachers were Mr. Zitrick, Coach Wolcott, and Ms. Lowe. Coach Wolcott and Mr. Zitrick still work at the school.

  1. Were you a good student in high school?

I was a good student in high school. I wish I would’ve challenged myself to take more AP courses.

  1. When did you decide to become your current profession?

I’ve wanted to be a teacher ever since elementary school. Growing up I would always play dress up as a teacher, and pretend to have my own classroom.

  1. If you attended college, what college did you attend? What did you major in? If not, what did you do after high school?

I attended Towson University and majored in elementary education.

  1. What does a typical day consist of for you?

A typical day consists of waking up at around 5:00, leaving the house around 6, getting to school, sharpening pencils, making copies, and getting materials ready for the day. Then teaching my class from 8:45- 3:45. I then make sure all my kids get home safely with everything they need, clean up the room, prepare for the next day, drive home, workout, eat dinner, grade papers, plan for the next day, and repeat.

  1. What sort of hobbies do you enjoy?

I enjoy exercising and shopping. Both help keep me sane. (The running is probably a better stress reliever than the shopping, but I’m still working on that.)

  1. Based on your life experiences, what is one piece of advice you would give to a current Tuscarora student?

I would tell a current Tuscarora student to enjoy every second while they can. High school is great, college is great, and the real world is great, but if you don’t stop and enjoy it it’ll be gone before you know it. It feels like just yesterday I was walking into Tuscarora as an incoming freshman.
