A fellow Titan in need: Collin Brown’s story
October 15, 2015
Collin Brown, a senior here at THS, needs your help. Collin had been complaining for several weeks about frequent headaches. As time passed the pain became more acute until it became almost too much, Ms. Brown, who many of you know as our very cheerful, supportive and kind front office person, took Collin, her son, to a doctor who first suspected allergies. However, after several weeks and several tests, there were no conclusive results to indicate what the problem was.
Last week, Collin experienced the worst headache to date, his color was pale and he was suffering from dizziness. His condition warranted immediate medical attention and he was taken to Urgent Care where an MRI was ordered. The results showed that Collin had a tumor and hydrocephalus (water on the brain). Since that time, Collin underwent surgery to remove the tumor and has been in Johns Hopkins ever since fighting to recover.
Obviously this has been a roller coaster for the Brown family and, by extension, our Titan family as well. So, what can you all do to help? Below are several links to different sites which will allow you to give a monetary contribution to the family and/or purchase a T-shirt on Collin’s behalf. There’s also a link to Caringbridge which will help you to keep in the loop as well as extend your well wishes to Collin and his family. But, even if you don’t donate or sign up to the Caringbridge site, we ask that you keep Collin and the rest of the Brown family in your thoughts and/or prayers. We are all a part of this Titan family, this Titan community, so let’s come together as a family and support the Brown’s as they navigate this very difficult time.
