arket St. in Downtown Frederick. Pretzel & Pizza creations has been open and serving customers sice 1991, when Natalia Nastovici first moved to Maryland with her husband Emil Natsovici.
When walking into the restaurant you are typically greeted by a line of people. On the left there is a small variety of ice cream flavors next to where the cashiers take your order. You then walk past them to the back of the restaurant where there are a few places to sit down. The restaurant is small, but it has a cozy feel, even providing books for people to read as they wait or eat.
Pretzel & Pizza Creations has a huge menu, they have: pizzas, pretzels, calzones, sandwiches, calzones, salads, soups, hot dogs and desserts. What makes Pretzel & Pizza Creations different from other restaurants is that their pizza crust is made from their pretzel dough. Their pizza, calzones and sandwiches all use pretzels instead of regular dough, they even wrap pretzels around their hot dogs.
Along with the wide variety of foods, they have a wide variety of pretzels. Craving something sweet? They make dessert pretzels, you can get a pretzel stuffed with chocolate chips, caramel chips, english toffee bits and more. Craving something a little more savory? They make cheesy pretzels, such as: pepperoni and provolone, spinach and cheddar, jalapeno and cheddar and even a vegan cheese pretzel. Overwhelmed by all the possibilities? You can go simple and get a plain salted pretzel and still be satisfied.
Over the years, Pretzel & Pizza Creations has received a numerous amount of positive reviews. Mrs. White, the Journalism adviser at Tuscarora High School has even shared her opinion of the restaurant, saying, “I really like how their salty foods, like pretzels and pizzas, pair nicely with their sweet drinks. I also like that they are open late. They’re one of the few restaurants that are open late.” If you’re ever looking a new place to try, considering going downtown to 210 N Market St. where Pretzel & Pizza Creations is open 11 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. during the week.
