May of this year marked the departure of Tuscarora’s 2023 graduating class, leaving our high-flying seniors on their own to pursue their deeply-held dreams and passions. Though a huge step forward for them, their exit left openings in the Titan Times editor positions that some of them once held. Coinciding with the start of the 2023-2024 school year, three new Journalism II students were appointed to these open positions: Cameron Lee, Editor-in-Chief; Courtney Turner, Co-Editor and Aubree Robey, Photo Design Editor. These are the staff profiles of the new editors, each describing their interests, pursuits and plans for the Titan Times this year.
Hi, my name is Cameron Lee and I’m very proud to be the Editor-in-Chief of the Titan Times this year. Outside of editor duties, I enjoy writing about some of my passions—mostly books, movies and music—and I also take photos on the side for the school yearbook, many of which I feature in my articles. This year I aspire to open the Titan Times up to a wider audience and to promote increased readership among students. I’m also interested in hosting more “freelance” articles on the Titan Times—freelance referring to works from Tuscarora students outside of the Journalism course. I have received lots of interest in contributing articles from students in the National English Honor Society, which leaves me feeling confident in my pursuit to find more contributors. I hope our readers appreciate all the work that we have done. Ultimately, we just love to write, and I’m very excited to see where our publication will go in the future.
Hi! I’m Courtney Turner and this year I have the privilege of being the Co-Editor of the Titan Times. This is my second year of Journalism and I’ve enjoyed every second of it! A little about me: I’m a junior, I’m playing my second year of field hockey, my favorite color is pink, and in the future I hope to be a publisher. Thank you for taking the time to read about me, I hope you enjoy the articles this semester!
Hi, I am Aubree Robey, I am the Photo Design Editor of the Titan Times. My job is to make sure everyone sources their pictures if needed. I have been writing for the Titan Times for two years now. Other than writing and editing for the Titan Times I love to go on walks all around the Frederick area and I love to watch movies and T.V. shows.
