During this holiday season, one thing everyone loves to do is watch holiday movies. One, a classic favorite holiday movie is Elf. Not only is it funny but it shows you the power this holiday has on people. This movie is about an elf named Buddy and his journey to New York to find his dad. Before he goes and looks for his dad we look at how he grew up, he grew up in the North pole as one of Santa’s elves. When he was a little baby he climbed into Santa’s sack of toys and was brought back to the North Pole without Santa realizing. Once Santa got back Buddy climbed out of the sack and Papa Elf decided to take him under his wing and raise him as his own. He grew up different from the other elves by being very tall and not having pointy ears. Once Papa Elf told Buddy the truth about how Papa Elf isn’t actually his dad Buddy took his long trip to New York on the hunt to find his dad.

The beginning of the movie is the best part because it is similar to another Christmas classic: “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.” Just like Rudolph, Buddy got made fun of because he was different then all the others. This movie shows that it’s okay to be different. It shows that if you put your mind to something you can do it. Elf is highly recommend because it shows you the true spirit of being yourself no matter what anyone else thinks, it truly is a beautiful movie.
