Student of the Week

Student of the Week, Omar Dia, came across as a born leader during his interview.  He currently runs the Breast Cancer Awareness Club at Tuscarora High School and plans to run for SGA president for the 11th grade class next year.  He attributes his success to his willingness to put in extra effort and the example his father has set for him. Omar’s study strategy is to take all the information out of his class notes and create his own online Quizlets to help him study and prepare for tests and quizzes.  Omar hopes to use his learning strategies to make his way through law school one day. In addition to the Breast Cancer Awareness Club and SGA, Omar also participates in Necktie Club and the Mock Trial Club. Omar’s favorite subject is history, but it was his science teacher, Ms. Hayden who nominated him for student of the week saying, “I had Omar last year and again this year.  He has shown tremendous growth and determination as a student.  He works very hard at every task in order to get the best grade that he can.”
