Aliyah Hopper’s spirit and drive earned her Student of the Week.  Her efforts on the track and in the classroom have been inspiring.  She attributes her success to “staying positive.” She surrounds herself with positive people and tries to lead with an ambitious outlook.  Her favorite class has been child development because the preschoolers are excited and positive about everything. Aliyah’s goal after high school is to attend Towson, Bowie or Morgan to earn a degree in Social Work.  After college, she is joining the Airforce in hopes of becoming a pilot. When asked about her degree choice, Aliyah explained, “Kids my age need people to listen and not judge. They need to hear the message that there is always something positive in any negative situation.”  With her attitude it is not hard to imagine Aliyah’s continued success will take her far.
