As is tradition here at Tuscarora, this past Wednesday the Tuscarora PTSA put on the Academics Award ceremony for students who showed outstanding academic performance for the 2017-2018 school year. This year we celebrated the academic achievement of well over 100 individuals who had maintained a 3.5 GPA in their previous year, no mere feat. Mrs. Dawn Beall the PTSA President started the ceremony with the anthem being sung by Ms. Kiana Walker. The main performance was done by Mr. Joseph Lee, Mr. Daniel Mulcahy, Mr. Cristian Romero, Mr. Jarrett Watson, Ms. Leslie Guerro, Ms. Kiana Walker, and Ms. Amy Cajigas. As part of the ceremony each student was given a golden star to be pinned upon their gown come graduation. For Seniors, some of whom have three years with of stars to the record by now, this time is fast approaching. For underclassmen it gives an incentive to keep up their hard work so that they can show off their hard work at the end of their senior years just as this year’s seniors will. We at the Titan Times though simply want to congratulate all those who received an award this year and to our underclassmen, keep up the hard work it will quite literally show come graduation.
