The Tuscarora High School Cross Country team recently competed in the 3A State Championships. They managed to place 10th which qualifies for Tuscarora history for being the highest a Tuscarora XC team has placed. Jeff Young posted an exceptional time of 17:47.04. The Titans had 4 runners who finished in the top 100 of the race. Their total score was score was 268 (if your wondering the first place score was 87) . “we have a group of young men and women who bought in” said Mr.Churan. A few runners who are worthy of mention are Nicholas Hilderbrandt, who came in 61st, and Nate Usher who came in 89th place. Although the boys may have gained a lot of attention a member of the girls cross country team named Norah Jarrahi also deserves a shoutout. She was the only girl from tuscarora to make it to the championships, she placed 51st. Her coach Mr.Babb said “ she has great work ethic and her skill sets learned in different sports attributed to her being able to perform the way she does.”
So, join us in congratulating our XC team for making THS history, Way to go guys!!! Go Titans!
