This week’s sports spotlight is on the Titans Girls Varsity Soccer team. Their regular season record is (5-6-1) and they will be facing the Linganore High School Girls Soccer team whose record is (9-4-1), in the second round of the playoffs. The Titans Head Coach is Troy Bowers, he’s been coaching the team for 5 years now. The Titans last regular season match ended in a 3-0 victory against Brunswick High School and sealed their seasons first back to back win. They just won their round 1 playoff game against Frederick High School, the score was 2-0.

The Titans captain Jordan Bonanno finished the regular season with perhaps one of her best performances, she scored her first high school career “Hat Trick”. “My whole family, Club teammates and coaches were all there so I knew I had to show out” said Jordan Bonanno.

The Titans had to play this season without a Jv team so their varsity team is made up of 14 freshman

The Titans recognized their 6 seniors on that Monday night where they played their last regular season home game. I caught up with some of the seniors to ask them how they felt about their high school careers now coming to end.

“It’s Bittersweet but I’m ready for the next level” Said Jordan Bonanno

“It’s sad because I won’t be able to see friends anymore and because I won’t have bowers as my coach” said Alexia Lee

“Playing on varsity for four years was fun and I’m upset it’s all over” said Katelynn Brady-Benzing

“I’m sad but grateful I got to play with the people I got to play with” said Elise Parker

Hopefully if the Titans keep up the momentum they are currently on they will be able to go on a deep run into the playoffs. The Titans win they will face Linganore High School who is the first seed and had a bye week in the first round of the playoffs on Tuesday October 30th. Go Titans !
