The winner of the 2018 Bettie Award was announced this weekend on March 3rd at the opening reception. Senior Caleb Spencer took home the grand prize of $1,000 for his self portrait. Caleb says, “[he] was very surprised [he] won the award.” He felt honored that the judges thought so highly of his work. Caleb plans on using the prize money towards a new lens to further his photography career. His photo, as well as a variety of artwork from across the county, will be in the Delaplaine Arts Center for the rest of Youth Art Month.
