Fire in Ice Festival!

Fire in Ice Festival!

Hannah Mueller, Senior Editor

Winter usually keeps us bundled up inside, blankets aplenty and hot chocolate always made and ready; however, on one chilly day in February, many people will be flocking to the streets of downtown to join in on the annual festivities once more.

Titans, Frederick’s own Fire in Ice festival is being held this Saturday!

The day’s activities range over a course of hours, stretching from 2 pm to 9 pm, and are filled with wonderful things to do and see! Stores will stay open later than normal too, so if you’re up for some late night shopping, you can do that. And to create the scene around you as you stroll the streets, live music will fill the frosty air to greet your ears with a joyful melody! Nonetheless, there will be dozens of intricate ice sculptures to amaze the masses and bring a smile to your face. If you are interested in ever learning how to make an ice sculpture like the ones you’ll see that night, there’s a live ice carving demonstration in Brewer’s Alley from 5pm-8pm. Plus, if you’re feeling a tad peckish, you can indulge in some s’mores they’ll have near the fire pits! Though be sure to grab one quick as supplies may run out.

But, this wouldn’t be the Fire in Ice festival without at least a few sparks of fire to light up the night! If you’re looking to really be dazzled by this event, check in around 7 pm at the Carroll Creek Amphitheater to witness the fire performances by Pyrophoric. Between their dancing and fire tricks, it’s something that’s definitely worth seeing!

So, Titans, if you’re looking for something fun to do this weekend, keep this in mind!
