It’s Time for Friendsgiving!
November 21, 2017
Unless you’re living under a rock, you’ve probably heard of Friendsgiving. A time when millennials can get away from the judgements of their extended family and the responsibility of doing dishes alone as the youngest of the table, Friendsgiving has become a potluck phenomenon. Whether you’re too far from family to go home for the holidays, or just want to create memories with friends, this dinner party exceeds a normal gathering while avoiding the confrontation of college questions.
Although we’d like to take credit, millennials aren’t the first to enjoy the company of both friends and family during the holiday season. In A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, Peppermint Patty invites herself, Marcie, and Franklin to Charlie Brown’s house for what we now call, Friendsgiving. It may be almost half a century since Charlie Brown ate buttered toast and jelly beans with all of his friends, but the tradition continues- just with a more elaborate feast. So, what will you be doing for Friendsgiving this year?
