Cross-Country Team Competes at States!
November 15, 2017
Greetings, Titans!
This past weekend our very own THS Cross-Country team competed at the 2017 MPSSA Cross-Country Championships. The Boys and Girls team competed in the 3A bracket against other schools such as Linganore High, Towson High and Bel Air High. The Boys team placed 15th out of 24 schools and the Girls team placed 17th out of 24 schools. The Meet was held at Hereford High School in Parkton. I went and interviewed one member from each team to see what it is like to compete at such a large event.

Q: What does it feel like to compete at such an event?
A: While I love competing, it’s painful. The hardest part about it is overcoming all the stress you’re putting on your body and putting in the effort that it takes to get to states.
Q: How long have you been doing Cross-Country?
A: I have been doing Cross-Country for three years, now.
Q: What motivates you to do your best?
A: In all honesty, the end goal of getting to States. My teammates and coaches also motivate me to do my best.

Q: What does it feel like to compete in Cross-Country?
A: It’s incredibly stressful. You have to remember that, while it is a competition, you can’t go overboard. You have to maintain even splits while running so you do really well in both parts of an event should that have two parts.
Q: How long have you been doing Cross-Country?
A: I’ve been doing it for two years, now.
Q: What motivates you to do your best?
A: My teammates and coaches. Without them, I don’t know where I would be or how I would keep going.
There you have it, folks! Just an inside look at how the team members feel about Cross-Country. Be sure to find us here again for more coverage on stories like this. Have a wonderful week, Titans!
