It’s, everywhere at this point, almost pushing Harvey out of the picture in terms of ferocity. Harvey was disastrous, don’t get me wrong, but Irma, it’s, it’s something else. As it stands right now, there are two paths that Irma could take. It could either cut up through Florida and then move more inland, hitting parts of Alabama and the majority of the Southeastern U.S. Or, it could come up into the tip of Florida, and then cut straight up to South Carolina. I send my regards, and I suggest you all do as well, to the victims of this monstrosity.

After being silent for 12 hours, the Prime Minister of Barbuda as well as the Minister of Foreign affairs of Antigua and Barbuda have come forth and stated Barbuda is 95% destroyed. Families have been scattered and homes destroyed and the island is without electricity. Almost all families have nowhere to go, and 10 have been reported dead as of today. The two strongest buildings in terms of material strength have been leveled as Irma passed over Barbuda. I know not what those buildings are made of, but it sounds like they were made of pretty durable materials that were thought to withstand hurricanes.

In St. Barts, the only firehouse is flooded with a meter of water. The Firefighters are taking shelter in an upper level room, trying to stay out of and away from the waters and winds. This island as well has a total loss of electricity.

For the Bahamas, the islands of Mayaguana, Inagua, Crooked Island, Acklins, Long Cay and Ragged Island have all been ordered to have evacuations take place. I can only hope and pray that the inhabitants of these islands get out safely as well as all of those in the mainland U.S.. While the destruction of this hurricane is absolutely devastating, there is only so much we can do until it disperses. After that point, I hope aid reaches those islands quickly.
