In a back and forth contest the Caps racked up a win in overtime to jump out to a 1-0 series lead against their longtime rival Pittsburgh Penguins. Caps winger TJ Oshie scored a hat-trick including the game winner in overtime to lift his team above their rivals. The game was a physical affair with the Caps asserting physical dominance over the smaller Pens. In the end the Capitals emerged victorious on the heels of a stellar performance by veteran goalie Braden Holtby who rejected waves of shots from the Penguins and, of course, the hat-trick performance by TJ Oshie. The Capitals will host game 2 Saturday night and, if the game 1 performance is any indication, this will be a short series and our beloved Caps will be rocking the red all the way to the Stanley Cup finals. Go Caps!!!
