The Consumer Electronics Show, which took place this month from the sixth to the ninth, is an electronic and technology trade show that takes place every year in Los Vegas. Companies and inventors from various countries come to this event to showcase new tech in the making to the public. CES showcases anything from consumer goods like home appliances, computers, cars and much more. Companies allow attendees to try their new pieces of tech before they become available to the general public to create talk and interest. This year’s CES featured many new products in gaming, wearables, and entertainment (link) .
Entertainment
Bendable T.V. screen
Samsung unveiled their bendable 105 inch T.V. screen this year. The screen can go from a flat to curved surface with the press of a button (link).
Roll-up OLED screen
LG revealed their roll-up OLED display screen prototype. The OLED display screen, an improvement from LED screens, which is what most computers, phones, and T.Vs use as their display, is able to roll up like a parcel. When the screen is perfected, it could be used for a variety of products, ultimately changing how we interact with technology (link).

Samsung Smart Fridge
This new smart refrigerator by Samsung has unique features that your average fridge doesn’t have. This fridge comes with a compact touchscreen panel, a built-in speaker system, and new and weather reports. The smart fridge is also able to check if an item has been in there for too long, and also has an embedded camera that monitors your food (link).
Haier R2D2 Refrigerator
For all you Star Wars fans out there, Haier, a Chinese home appliance company, has created an R2D2 refrigerator. This replica of the iconic robot we all know, comes authentic sound and light effects, a built in projector and can deliver drinks to you (link).
Gaming
Virtual Reality
At this year’s CES, virtual reality really shined throughout the gaming category. As expected the much anticipated Oculus Rift was revealed as well as its price and expected ship out date; however, many other VR headsets were revealed as well. The HTC Vive, and google cardboard were also present in the show as well (link).
Computer
This year, various gaming companies revealed new models for their gaming desktop and laptop lines. MSI revealed a gaming laptop that utilizes tobii, which allows players to perform certain actions in games by just looking at certain things on the screen. Asus also revealed their new, and impressive model of their tower desktop gaming series, and Alienware showed off their laptop which doubles as a gaming and work laptop (link).
