Titans, who do YOU want to see as the Next President?! (POLL)

Let’s face it, Presidential elections are probably not the MOST important topic of conversation between high school students. Some of us may have an interest in politics but, for the most part, high school students aren’t heavily into the political process. This is in no small part due to the fact that we aren’t even allowed to vote.

However, this years’ senior Titans will be old enough to vote in the next presidential election. And, given the sheer number of candidates all of whom seem to represent vastly different ideas, perhaps it’s time we take a moment to think about who may be our next president.

Although politics may seem like nothing more than a mass media-fueled soap opera of conflicting opinions and shady politicians, it’s very important for our generation to begin paying attention to the bigger picture and to begin to understand that one of our most important rights as American citizens, is to exercise our right to vote. But, voting is more than a right, it is also a responsibility. Our democracy can’t hope to succeed if we Americans don’t look past the headlines and educate ourselves about our candidates, who they are, what they stand for and how they will lead our nation moving forward. If this seems a bit heavy, well that’s because it is. But, while this is a very big and important topic, at the end of the day we are all still teenagers, so let’s just have a little fun and place our own votes for the next president.

In other words, below are listed the primary front-runners in this election season. Pick the candidate who you want to be our next president!

The Maryland Voting Primary begins on April 26, 2016 (Tuesday). If you’re over the age of eighteen by then, you’ll be able to register for a Voting I.D. by simply going to the MVA and showing proof of age. It’s important to note that if you’re registered as an “Independent” or unaffiliated voter, then you will not be able to vote in either the Democratic or Republican primaries, so choose a party wisely.

See you at the voting polls, Titans!
