Christmas Eve is often thought of as a time of peace and ease, yet it is the complete opposite when it comes to the airport setting. Being one of the busiest times of the year, Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents are flooded with crowds of people they have to take care of, including those who are impatient, rushing and full of expectations. However, what if one of those expectations was to allow a dangerous piece of cargo through security that would put the lives of thousands at risk or the life of one you love at stake?
The enthralling movie “Carry On” follows TSA agent Ethan Kopek (Taron Egerton) working security at Los Angeles International Airport on Christmas Eve. While on duty as security, Kopek anonymously receives an earpiece and phone call from someone. The stranger (Jason Bateman) threatens Kopek to allow a luggage full of explosives to be cleared onto the plane without alerting anyone or his pregnant fiance, Nora (Sofia Carson), would die.
“Carry On” has an interesting plot line that engrosses the viewer from the start. There isn’t a moment that feels unnecessary or as a filler to pass time, but rather each moment quickly and clearly moves onto the next. Main actors Egerton and Bateman do an effective job in conveying the high intensity and expressive emotions in the dynamic.
Overall, I would rate this thriller a 5/5. It kept me interested from the beginning through to the very end. I would recommend this movie to people who enjoy films that keep them hooked at the edge of their seat for what’s going to happen next.
