Black Friday is the biggest shopping day of the year. It always falls on the day after Thanksgiving, almost everything goes on sale, which comes with perfect time for the upcoming holidays. Many people do almost all of their holiday shopping on Black Friday.

Years prior to 2020, Black Friday was packed at every store and mall, you had to fight for a spot in line to pay for your product.

In 2020, when it was very unsafe to go out shopping, the majority of stores didn’t even open for Black Friday. This forced people to do all their shopping online. Ever since then, online shopping has increased. In 2021, Covid-19 wasn’t as bad as the year before, therefore almost all the stores opened on Black Friday. Millions of people went out shopping as they would have, but researchers realized there was an increasing amount of more people shopping online then they were prior to 2020.

In 2022, it may have looked like not as many people had gone shopping but I can assure you that was not the case.  Most people shopped online instead. According to Adobe Analytics, retail sales went up 10.2% this year compared to last year’s sales. Yet most of that was coming from online, so many stores are backed up because almost everything is sold out.

In my books I would say that Black Friday this year was a boom. We had an increase in sales and we learned to adjust to online shopping. Happy Holidays hopefully you got a good deal on Black Friday this year!
