HOUSTON, TEXAS- The fall classic is back as Major League Baseball’s ultimate prize is now up for grabs. The Houston Astros and Philadelphia Phillies are headed to Houston for a best of seven series for the World Series. These two teams have had two very different paths to get to the Fall Classic. The Houston Astros, a perennial powerhouse in the American League, made it to their fourth World Series in the last six seasons. The Philadelphia Phillies, a team of destiny this season, snuck into the playoffs as the lowest seed in the National League. They proceeded to beat two division winners and another formidable opponent in the San Diego Padres.

The Phillies have surprised many fans this postseason. They have been underdogs in every single series so far this postseason. They beat the St. Louis Cardinals in the Wild Card Round. They then beat the defending World Series champion Atlanta Braves. Finally, they defeated the San Diego Padres in five games. The Astros had a much different path to the World Series. They were the best team in the American League, having a bye in the first round. They beat their division rival Seattle Mariners in the Division Series and swept the New York Yankees to win the pennant.

The Phillies have a tall task to defeat the juggernaut Astros. However, the Phillies have been “Dancing on My Own” the entire postseason. The Phillies have surprised everyone this postseason, reaching their first World Series in 13 years. Can the Fightin’ Phils stop the potential dynasty in the MLB? Only time will tell.
