According to multiple sources Queen Elizabeth II passed away last night. She was 96 years old, married to Prince Phillip for 73 years and had four kids. The Queen ruled a long and fulfilling life before her reign ended, holding up longer than the late Queen Victoria who passed at the age of 81. Queen Elizabeth of Britain ruled a total of 70 years and 214 days, making her the longest reigning monarch. After her untimely death, a statement had been put out by His Majesty, King Charles commenting that, “It is a moment of the greatest sadness for me and all members of my family.¨ Also stating that, ¨During this period of mourning and change, my family and I will be comforted and sustained by our knowledge of the respect and deep affection in which the Queen was so widely held.¨ Many ceremonies and respect towards the Queen were held throughout the day, including the 96 rounds of gunfire salutes across the UK. As well as, multiple presidents across the globe sending their condolences to the UK like Joe Biden, Tsai Ing-wen, Yoon Suk Yeol, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong etc. Due to her passing, this puts Prince Charles III as the new head of position of the monarch becoming King. He will make a statement tonight later in the day.
