FBI Director James Comey Fired by President Trump

James Comey served as the Federal Bureau of Investigation director from September 4, 2013, until yesterday, May 9, 2017. President Trump delivered his famous “You’re Fired” line to Comey, who was currently handling the investigation into Russian assistance with Trump’s presidential campaign.  Trump declared the sudden departure was due to Comey’s conduction of Hillary Clinton’s email scandal when she used her private email server for work purposes. Comey is the third official that Trump has fired since he has taken office following former Attorney General Preet Bharara and former acting Attorney General Sally Yates.
