National Art Honor Society

Ashlyn Hurley, Writer

The National Art Honor Society, or NAHS, is an organization here at Tuscarora High School that allows students the opportunity to show their artistic abilities. Each school has their own NAHS, and Tuscarora’s is responsible for many things! If you’ve ever attended homecoming and seen the decorations hung up, or the painting on the window in main street, you can thank the NAHS. They do the holiday and seasonal decorations seen around the school. They are also involved in charity work, where they make gifts for the Heartly House. The Heartly house provides all-inclusive services for victims and survivors of domestic violence. Being in the NAHS can both better develop your artistic skills, or even show you new ones! Joining gives you a great chance at making new friends, memories, and doing things you love.

They meet once a month after school for about an hour to talk about their upcoming projects. To be accepted, it is a requirement that you have taken and passed one art class. To join, just talk to Mrs. Reed in the ceramics room.

Congratulations to the new officers for the 2016-2017 school year!
